　　Thetempoofmoderncivilizationhasbeenmuchquickenedinthelasttwentyyears.Whilewitnessingthedramaticchangesinthebetter-offsociety,peoplebegintoreconsiderthequestionof"survival"."Survival"intheoldsensedoesnotbotherusanymore.Instead,wearemoreconcernedabouthowto"survive"inthehumanworldfullofpetition.
　　Competitionalwayscarriesabreastchallengesandopportunitiestoeveryoneinvolved.Itmightappearinanentranceexam,inaregularclass,orinasmallpublicspeech.Thosewhofailtodetectitsrealnature-whetheranopportunityorachallengeapetitionreallyis-willlosesomethingmoreorlessconducivetoourgrowth.Ofcourse,ifwetakethepetitionasanopportunity,wewillfavoritintentionallybecausetheycanhelpusoutstandfromtheaverage;theywillmakeusbeethefocusofpublicattention;theywillgrantusmorechancesandrightstosucceed.Asamatteroffact,opportunitiesaresupposedtobemoreperceptibleandwelingthanchallenges.Thetruthis,however,wewilllosemoreopportunitieswhenwechoosetotakethe"opportunity"forkatthecrossroads.Theotherfork,ignoredbyusanddefinedas"fearfulchallenges",offersmuchmorechancesforthewalkerinpetition.
　　Wehavesuchaninclinationinlifetooverestimateourselvesandholdathoughtlessattitudetowardsthenegativeoutlookofthings.
　　Webelieveintheoldsaying,"Opportunityknocksbutjustonce,"sowealwaysweleitanddevoteallourspiritandeffortstoit.Themostdevoutbelieverofthissayingarethegraduates.Why?Therearequiteanumberofthemwhopayfullattentiontopositionsinbigcitiesandarewillingtofloodintodevelopedareasunderanycircumstances,eventhoughtherewillbetoomuchuncertaintyfortheirchoices.Innumerablecasesgostraighttothesamemiserableend:GodseemstorefusetohelptoomanyofHisworshipers.
　　Inconclusion,todefinethequalityofpetitionseemstobefarfromvaluablesense,fornomatterwhatapetitionis,anopportunityorachallenge,itwillcreatenutritiouselementsforourgrowth.
　　Sotakeapositivelookateverythingaround.Keepourfacetothesunshine,andwewillnotseetheshadows.
